STSH - 2017


Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) was established as an autonomous organization in 1978, under the Dept. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. CCRH functions through its 29 Units and Institutes present throughout the country. Primarily a research body, CCRH has a multi-dimensional approach to research and its varied research activities include 'Survey, collection and cultivation of medicinal plants', 'Drug standardization', 'Drug proving', 'Clinical verification' and 'Clinical research'. Besides, CCRH also collaborates with other research bodies for researches and monitors extramural researches. To meet its objective of result-oriented research, CCRH pursues various clinical studies on different conditions or diseases. These diverse activities have taken CCRH to the helm of affairs of homoeopathic research and the Council has begun to get recognition from all sides. CCRH strives to keep going with its efforts of upgrading the science of Homoeopathy, through a pragmatic and rational approach and to take Homoeopathy to newer heights.

As a step forward in the capacity building and encouraging research aptitude among undergraduate, post graduate & PhD students, the Council has initiated the following schemes.

1. CCRH SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR MD/ PhD STUDENTS OF HOMOEOPATHY: This scheme is primarily aimed at promoting good quality research in homoeopathic medical colleges through students pursuing post graduation/ doctorate as well as improving the visibility and accessibility of their research works to larger research audience. The Council, through this scholarship scheme to medical graduates/ Post graduates, will procure the dissertations/ theses in its library and the salient highlights of each dissertation/ thesis will also be posted on its website. The highlights of scheme are: (a) The Council will provide scholarship of Rs.25, 000/- (twenty five thousand) only to the selected candidates, (b) Number of Awards will be limited to 10 per year. (c) Medical graduates/ postgraduates who are enrolled to the MD /PhD programme in any recognized College/ University of Homoeopathy and wish to avail the CCRH scholarship for pursuing their research projects will be eligible. Application in the prescribed format by Head of the Institute will be received twice in a year, between 1st to 30th June or 1st to 31st December each year. 2. SHORT TERM STUDENTSHIP IN HOMOEOPATHY (STSH) PROGRAM: The main objective of this program is to provide an opportunity to undergraduate homoeopathic students to familiarize themselves with research methodology and techniques by being associated for a short duration with their seniors on ongoing research program or by undertaking independent projects. This may serve as an incentive for them to take up research as a career in the future. The highlights of scheme are: (a) The Council will provide scholarship of Rs.10, 000/- (ten thousand) only to the selected candidates, which will be paid only after completion of research and approval of final report. (b)Undergraduate Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) students before they appear in their final exams will be eligible and therefore, interns/ PG students are not eligible to apply.The program will be came into force w.e.f. 20th June 2014.
